OUR HISTORY
Trans Energy Systems is a manufacturer’s representative of electric heating products. Our philosophy has always been to aggressively seek out the best electric heating products from various manufacturers and promote their use in commercial, high-rise residential, institutional, or industrial projects.
Trans Energy Systems was born from Larry Morgan and Associates. Originally, the name “Trans Energy” was associated with the proportional perimeter control system that Larry Morgan promoted. I am forever grateful for the opportunity that Larry gave me to work with and for him. Rarely a week goes by where I do not think of Larry Morgan, affectionately known as the “Jewish Cowboy.” Larry sold me the business in October of 1993 and Trans Energy Systems became a corporate entity with Mark A. Prete as its President.
For years we were affiliated with Erincraft Manufacturing Co. Erincraft had an excellent line of commercial convectors, along with a strong stable of fan forced heaters. Our relationship ended the winter of 1994, when Mr. Verma of Erincraft called me to say they were closing their doors. It was an end of an era for us.
Trans Energy was forced to hone its services to become more of a partner with its customer base. We started to offer a myriad of assistance services that most (if not all) the other electric heat reps did not offer and still do not. We spent much more time in the field than ever before and learned what the people in the field needed and wanted in order to have the job run smoother. This included field measurements with Trans Energy taking full responsibility for a correct bill of material. We also backed that up with AutoCAD drawings for installation and record. We garnered a good reputation that allowed us to continue to grow as a company and lead us into our next and latest era.
Fast forward to the fall of 2006, when I was invited to see a manufacturer of electric heat in L’Islet, Quebec, Canada. Ouellet Electric Heating is a rep’s dream. Ouellet is a family owned business that is about quality products, competitively priced products, unheard of lead times, and a sincere interest in product development.
Trans Energy is dedicated to working with the specifiers in the Chicago metropolitan area and responding to their requests.
Larry Morgan and Associates
Larry Morgan of L. Morgan and Company started Trans Energy Systems in 1988. A few years after that Trans Energy was incorporated and owned by Mark A. Prete. Trans Energy is an electric heat supplier to commercial, up-scale residential, and industrial clients in the Chicago Metro area. We specialize in perimeter heat and control systems and have a good understanding of the radiation theorem in relation to practical heating applications. We have a working relationship with many of the specifiers in the Chicago area and take a lot of pride in doing the right thing when requested to take part in application engineering .
