505 N. State, Chicago, Illinois Architect: Guajardo REC Architects
A new Kimpton Palomar Hotel is getting ready to open in the River North neighborhood of downtown Chicago. Construction of the 36-story building, which began in early 2008, will be finished in the last quarter of 2009. The hotel will formally open to the public in January 2010. Hotel and residential lobbies occupy the street level, along with a premier restaurant along Illinois Street. Three levels of parking are tucked below the 260-room hotel, which occupies sixteen floors of the project, topped by two levels of ballrooms and amenities. The remainder of the building consists of 124 corporately-owned residences. The ground floor will accommodate hotel and condominium lobbies, registration service areas and a specialty restaurant. We were contracted to install the electric baseboard heaters in the ground floor Lobby and restaurant areas. Architect: GREC Architects Engineered by: Henneman Engineering Special thanks to Tom Hanley with McHugh Construction. He was very helpful on all aspects of co-ordinating the project. Also, thanks to Kevin Conlin of JMS Electric. He was the Project Manager and was great to work with. Also, a very special thanks to Ron Felchuk, the site foreman for 505. He did an incredible job. |
